Completed training at the McTimoney School in 1986 and went on to qualify in Animal Manipulation in December 1993. Then studied the Bowen Technique for people and animals in 1998 to acquire new skills for the treatment of back and neck pain and many related problems.
After completing training in 1986 set up a practice in Wilmslow in Cheshire with a very busy clinic treating people and gaining the experience used today.
Having always wanted to work with animals began training on the McTimoney Animal Manipulation course and 10 months after becoming certificated moved to Hong Kong to continue work. Remaining in Hong Kong for eight months treating the racehorses both on the racetrack and as ex racehorses being trained for different uses by the enthusiastic British expats! Also began working in a clinic on Hong Kong Island treating local people and expatriates for back, neck and muscular problems using gentle manipulation.
On return to the UK, personal health problems led to the discovery of the Bowen Technique which is used in the treatment of both people and equines. Similar to the gentle manipulation, Bowen Therapy provides a gentle whole body treatment but using the muscles as a point of release rather than manipulating the joints of the spine, pelvis and limbs. The results were amazing and gave a second excellent treatment to further help patients.
Relocated in 1999 to live in the South Cotswolds and now travels the leafy Cotswold lanes in search of Equestrian Centres and Livery Yards for equines and their owners. Recent ventures have included a trip to Kenya with a group of therapists using Bowen Therapy on the baby elephant orphans at the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust! Now back in the UK treating dogs, cats, horses and the occasional farm animal when needed as well as regular clients of the human kind in busy practices in Gloucester, Nailsworth and Stroud.
